The Gay Agenda T-Shirt

The gay agenda has been located. Apparently it involves a rainbow planet and very good bubble lettering.

This design takes the ominous-sounding phrase “the gay agenda” and makes the joke visible immediately: a rainbow-striped globe above bright pink and teal type. Whatever secret plan the wording is supposed to imply, the shirt answers with something much less mysterious: queer people exist everywhere and are not especially interested in being discreet about it. That is what makes the slogan work as camp.

It borrows the dramatic language of suspicion, then drains the menace out of it with colour, humour and an absurdly cheerful world map. The agenda can be brunch, equal treatment, a holiday, a drag show, remembering sunscreen or all of the above. Black heather, athletic heather, ocean blue, mint and white all give the rainbow globe a different kind of punch.

This original Queer In The World design is for globe-trotting gays, local homosexuals and anyone whose five-year plan contains suspicious amounts of Pride.

The Gay Agenda is strongest as recognition rather than explanation. Using the graphic treatment gives the design enough personality to feel like an actual graphic piece, while the wording gives people who share the identity something precise to connect with.

That makes it useful for everyday visibility, Pride and affirming gifts, especially when the wearer wants the label to be present on their own terms rather than translated for everybody else.

Sizing note

This is a unisex T-shirt cut. Width is measured flat across the chest and length from the shoulder to the hem. Compare the measurements with a T-shirt you already like; size up if you want a roomier fit.
