Some mornings the answer is one set. Some evenings it is another. Sometimes context matters. Sometimes it changes for reasons nobody else needs to reverse-engineer before using the right words. “So ask” is refreshingly practical because it skips the amateur detective work entirely.
You do not need to diagnose the shift, understand every layer of somebody’s gender or deliver a speech about how hard you are trying. Ask. Listen. Use the answer. If it changes later, use the new one. That is less exhausting than turning somebody’s pronouns into a referendum on consistency. Fluid can still be clear.

Hello My Pronouns Are Fluid. So Ask. works best when the visibility feels like recognition, not a public-service announcement. Take it to Pride, work, campus, conferences, community events or social spaces where introductions repeat often enough that the name tag earns its keep. It is a thoughtful gift for somebody who explicitly describes their pronouns as fluid and wants the reminder visible. Ask respectfully.
Use the answer. Move on. Nobody needs to turn the correction into a confession scene, and nobody needs a permanent pronoun just to make strangers more comfortable.
