Don’t Be Distracted By Emotions is what you wear when the feelings are clearly present but you have decided they can wait until after the outfit, the deadline and possibly next Thursday.

The joke is pure queer emotional avoidance dressed in hot pink. Nobody with a functioning nervous system actually believes feelings are a waste of time, which is exactly why the line works. It is the performance of being far too fabulous, busy or administratively efficient to process whatever just happened. Breakup? Interesting. Existential crisis? Put it in the calendar. Somebody wants to “talk”?

Unfortunately the emotional department is currently closed. The shirt is funniest on the person who is very obviously feeling everything while announcing that feelings will not be taking questions at this time. Repression has never looked this organised, efficient or pink.

Don't Be Distracted By Emotions works best as part of a life, not as a piece of commentary about one. It is right at home at Pride, brunch, Drag Race nights, work-from-home days, dates you are pretending not to care about or the office where somebody keeps saying “circle back.” The dark raglan versions make the pink text feel wonderfully severe.

Eventually, yes, process your emotions. Journal. Talk to somebody. Feel the thing. But for the next hour? We have eyeliner to fix and absolutely no capacity.
