The superhero is off duty. The outfit isn't.
Chrome Package borrows the heroic silhouette, polishes it to an unreasonable shine and gives it much better nightlife plans. The metallic surface picks out the chest and torso, while curved seams push the look toward comic-book costume territory. It is masculinity with the volume turned up far enough to become camp, and camp with an excellent view of the body.
The silhouette has the camp logic of a comic-book costume after the art-school gays gained access to wardrobe. Long sleeves and a high neck suggest armor, then the short legs politely ruin the disguise. This metallic muscle romper plays with masculinity through exaggeration: shaped seams, concentrated shine and a heroic outline with much better nightlife plans than patrol duty.
Take it in a villainous direction with substantial boots, or use simple sneakers to make the metallic excess feel oddly casual. A plain jacket over the top lets you reveal the shine in stages. This piece needs very little extra decoration; the contrast between reflective fabric and bare legs already gives the eye plenty to follow.
Our ARTPOP Chaos collection has a soft spot for a familiar symbol made gloriously strange, and a muscle romper is fertile ground. Choose the metallic mood that suits your character, then let the performance be yours. You can play the hero, the dubious romantic interest or the person who steals the scene without bothering to save the world.
