“Bull dyke” has a complicated history. It has been used as an insult against masculine lesbians and queer women, but it has also been reclaimed by people who choose the term for themselves with pride, humour and defiance. This design leans into that reclamation by making the bull literal.

The muscular horned character turns a phrase historically meant to make butchness sound threatening into something deliberately powerful and almost cartoonishly charming. The result is not a universal label for lesbians, and it should never be imposed on somebody who does not claim it. Worn by the right person, though, it becomes a piece of self-naming with claws.
