Maverique is not male, female or neutral, and the whole point is that it does not need to be.
Vesper H coined maverique in 2014 for a gender experienced as autonomous, present and independent of male, female and neutral categories. The flag was designed alongside that language with colours chosen specifically to avoid conventional gender associations.
Within an approximately 15 to 22 mm enamel face, a rarely stocked gender identity becomes a proper little object rather than something you only ever see buried in an online glossary. The rarity is part of the luxury.
Rare does not mean marginal to the person living it. If maverique is the word, seeing the exact flag in enamel can feel ridiculously good.
