If the future still needs a rulebook for how men and women are supposed to behave, frankly we have not futurised hard enough.
The Future Is Genderless is less about deleting gender than deleting the exhausting little fences around it. Wear the lipstick. Grow the beard. Change the pronouns. Keep the pronouns.
Be a man who loves softness, a woman who wants nothing to do with femininity, a nonbinary menace in perfect tailoring or somebody who simply stopped asking whether a colour, job, hobby or gesture was “for” them. Gender can be intimate, joyful and deeply meaningful without becoming a prison sentence with a dress code.
The lips give the whole thought a little glamour because queer futurism should never be forced to look like a conference slide.
This belongs at Pride, on campus, in art spaces, at queer nights or anywhere people are already inventing more interesting ways to be alive. Style it clean and graphic or make it part of an outfit that would have caused a Victorian relative to faint onto a chaise longue.
The future does not have to be beige, and it definitely does not need another generation of strangers policing who gets to wear what. Keep the gender if it serves you. Lose the rules that do not.

This Queer In The World Original Design is printed to order, so please allow around 2-5 business days for production before dispatch. Making each piece only after it is ordered helps avoid overproduction and unsold inventory, and orders are fulfilled regionally where possible to reduce unnecessary travel. If your order includes other items, they may be produced separately and arrive in more than one parcel.
