The line originates with abolitionist and women's-rights advocate Sarah Grimké in 1837: she asked no favour for her sex, only that men take their feet off women's necks. Ruth Bader Ginsburg later quoted Grimké in her own legal work on sex equality.
The No Favor For My Sex print has one job and does it well: bold slogan: “I ask no favor for my sex. All I ask is that… they take their feet off our necks.”.
