Butch can be swagger, gender, history, community, erotic energy, softness under a work jacket or the particular satisfaction of finally recognising yourself in a word somebody else once used like an insult. It can be boots, muscle, jewellery, a buzz cut, a perfect shirt cuff, tenderness, practical competence or none of the clichés people keep trying to staple onto it.
The tattooed figure gives the design confidence, but the wearer supplies the actual butchness. That is the part outsiders never quite understand: the word is not a costume checklist. It is yours because you claim it, live in it and know what it feels like when somebody who gets it looks at you and says, yes, exactly.
That recognition can hit harder than any definition ever could.
Butch & Proud has the useful quality of feeling specific without becoming precious. Take it to dyke nights, Pride, queer sports, dates, leather bars, community events or the hardware store if you enjoy letting a stereotype briefly feel deserved. The baseball sleeves already carry a little sporty, workwear energy, so the whole thing lands with the right amount of casual swagger.

This Queer In The World Original Design is printed to order, so please allow around 2-5 business days for production before dispatch. Making each piece only after it is ordered helps avoid overproduction and unsold inventory, and orders are fulfilled regionally where possible to reduce unnecessary travel. If your order includes other items, they may be produced separately and arrive in more than one parcel.
